Workout:
Animal themed work out. Warmed up with Worker-Bee Motivator 9 n 5. Bat Wings (Arm circles both ways, seal claps, overhead claps). Stretches. Mosey. Two sets of Butt-kicks and High knees. Then Animal move with exercises every 10 yards. Bear crawls and Goat Mountain Climbers. Duck Walk and Squats. Then tried a 200 yard dash at a Beer-miler (animal) pace. “Successful effort”! Circled up for some core. Bicycles (Freddie Mercury was an animal). Golden Arches. Supermans and Manatees. And ended with Plank o Rama for 60. Saved gators, frogs, and other fun for next time kids.
COT:
Thought was inspired by a podcast and book I’m reading. Gabor Mate’s Myth of Normal. He encourages us to rethink some of our experiences (traumatic/challenging) and some of our perspectives (often formed in response to those experiences.) It can apply individually but he also looks at the bigger picture, culturally. Hopefully, with more understanding, we can better understand our lives, our ideas, and our responses day-to-day, and in doing so, we can grow and become better/more healthy. And in doing that, become better at our various roles, whatever they may be– family members, neighbors, workers, community members, strangers, and leaders. So, don’t be afraid to challenge your thinking, and always seek to continue to grow. Good work fellers.
