Focker
Workout:
Return of the horrible failure that was the “Rock, Paper, Scissors” exercise of mine from a couple weeks ago. Things were much more simple this time.
PAX played ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS with @Focker (Q). If Q won, then PAX had to complete x10 Burpees and then bear crawl to the 25yd line and mosey back. If PAX beat Q, then he had his choice of x10 reps of any exercise and choice of movement to the 25yds and back.
We made it through about 20 rounds before the timer went off, thereby completing “200-ish” reps of burpees, merkins, curls for the girls, OH press, and triceps.
6MOM:
p90x – x10 reps of each exercise. Forgot how much that series of core work makes your abs scream by the end.
COT:
if at first you don’t succeed… I wanted to rehash this workout to make it better after the way it bombed the first time. I think I succeeded this time around. This week I’ve been thinking about the phrase: “If at first you dont succeed, try again.” I took some advice from a fellow PAX and made the workout a bit more simple. It’s important to learn and adapt from our previous failures to continue to succeed and be better. I shared a story about helping some newer nurses at work to be more prepared to be on their own with practical skills training…things like starting IVs and other invasive lines. The phrase I get most often from the newer or more nervous nurses is: “Well I’m no good at it.” Then they typically ask me to do it. My responses are either to tell them to try first before I come help, or to have me go in with them and assist while they go through the steps. Most of them are appreciative and It’s great seeing their faces brighten with that light of accomplishment when they do succeed.
