Rowboat
Warm-up:
Abe Vigodas, SSH, Weed Whackers, Turn n Bounce, Calf Stretch, Flamingos
Workout:
- Ran adjacent neighborhoods to CCC for ~40 minutes.
- Ventured over to Rowboat hill where @Waddle and @Sweet corn decided to run in 2x
- @Finch and @Papi became disoriented in the “Bermuda triangle” of Bridgewater Estates. They found their way back to CCC just as @Jarvis dispatched a search party . They covered the most distance at 4.65 miles!
COT:
- Due to a late finish this morning, we didn’t have a formal COT.
- My thoughts today expand on our annual goal/resolution/intention conversations we have been having
- In the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Covey talks about “beginning with the end in mind.”
- As we set our 2026 goals, or consider life decisions, Covey challenges us to clearly defining what success looks like before you begin
- Covey uses a metaphor of climbing up a ladder to the wrong wall to illustrate the danger of efficiency without direction:
- Imagine climbing a ladder quickly and skillfully, only to realize it’s leaning against the wrong wall.
- Efficiency ≠ Effectiveness: You can be very efficient at doing tasks, but if those tasks don’t lead to your ultimate goal, you’re not effective.
- Effectiveness starts with clarity: Make sure your ladder (efforts) is leaning against the right tree (your true priorities and values).
- Where are your 2026 goals focused…what “wall” are you climbing? Are they merely self-serving, or are they focused on serving others and honoring your faith tradition?
