Running with Papi

Wed., Feb. 25, 2026 / 05:30 am - 06:30 am / Bike n Hike Trail

Papi

Warm-up:

Papi struggled figuring out how to lead in cadence but did variations of SSH, Weed Whackers, Flamingo, Calf Lunges, Squatters.

Workout:

PAX returned to the hike and bike trail and covered 3-4 miles in roughly 40 minutes of running through tougher snow conditions than anticipated.

COT:

Discussed the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit (wisdom, understanding, fortitude, knowledge, counsel, piety, and fear of the Lord) and particularly the gift of fear of the Lord, also known as the gift of wonder and awe, or “joy filled awe in the presence of the Lord”

I’ve always interpreted this in relation to nature and our natural world around us. It is easy to see and be in awe of God’s presence in the obvious beauties of nature but also in the subtleties of it every day- fresh coat of snow on a running trail in the woods, the way the evening sun hits a certain tree on a drive home, the first run in shorts and a tshirt when the weather warms, etc.

Encouraged the group to recognize the Holy Spirit as you encounter it throughout your day – whether that be in the other gifts – but particularly the gift of wonder and awe today as we approach new weather and subtle changes in nature that come with it.

Take time to enjoy it and give reverence to the Lords presence in these things and their beauty too. Hopefully this can give some inspiration as winter drags on that there’s change around the corner but there’s beauty in the gray skies and frigid temperatures too if we know where to look.

Appreciate everyone sticking it out on the trail in the snow. Rest those calf muscles!
