On my whistle!
Thu., Oct. 17, 2024 / 05:30 am - 06:15 am / Woodridge High School
Wiley
Workout:
Started with a warm-up, including some motivator. Mosey to track where I started a two minute timer and we did did 20 Merkins and 20 squats then ran on the track. I blew the whistle when time was up and we repeated 3 more times. Met at the 50 yard line for some Mary. Ran one more lap and maxed out on Merkins.
COT:
@flyguy said after his 50 miler how he was thinking about the way we often just let ourselves off the hook when things get hard, and that inspired today’s COT. Whether it’s physically during a work out, or mentally or spiritually in our day-to-day lives at home and work, it’s easy and appealing to believe our own baloney. Sometimes that baloney influences how we act and the choices we make— we believe the lies and excuses that justify a mistake. And I’m not a guy who believes in destroying yourself during a workout, but I do believe there is wisdom in pushing yourself without beating yourself up— in all ways— physically, mentally, and/or spiritually. Seems to me that understanding that distinction and living by it is a huge factor in everyone’s life. So I challenge everyone: push yourself as much as you can without beating yourself up. So Challenge yourself to do your best in everything, but don’t beat yourself up when you fall short or make a mistake (holding yourself accountable does not mean beat yourself up— negative talk is one example of the boloney we believe.)
