My thought of the day was in times of conflict with our spouse, men often think it’s more honorable of us to just shut down rather than continue to argue. I’m reading a book where it talks about that shut down and says that’s exactly what your wife doesn’t want. She wants you to continue to communicate in the hard times because it makes her feel love. Obviously there are boundaries to stay within but the overarching idea has stuck with me. I’ve tried to implement this strategy a few times and honestly it’s been surprising how well it’s worked out for our relationship.
