Workout:
4 PAX fought the early morning humidity and the strong desire to be somewhere else that was air conditioned (that one maybe only applies to the Q) and got some work in this AM in a VERY HUMID edition of The Capper. @Wall-E @Michael Bolton @Wolowitz @Squealer (Q)After a brief warmup and a recap of at least 4 of the 5 Fs, we dove into The Thang, which was a cluster Q where each PAX took turns calling out an exercise and Qing it. We increased reps in increments of 5 and then after the 20 rep exercise we moseyed to the opposite corner of the track for a repeato of the circuit(s) we had already completed and added a new one. When it was all said and done it looked like this:5- Squats
10- Merkins
15- LBC
20- Stationary lunges (10 each side)
200M
Prior circuit +
5- Dips
10- SSH
15- Air Press
20- Big Boys
200M
Prior Circuits +
5-Burpees
10- Diamond Merkins
15- Lunges
20- Mtn Climbers
200M
Prior circuits +
5- Prison Get Ups
10-American Hammers
15- Gas Pumps
20- Merkins
200M
Prior Circuits (kudos to @Wall-E for leading us through that and mostly getting it right)+
5- LBCs
10- Leg Lifts
15- Jim Braddocks
20- Crossover Crunches
One additional lapI thought this was a good burn for everyone and was a great chance to give everyone a chance at running the cadence. If nothing else, we all did our part to sop up some of the extra water laying around the Memorial Stadium track.
COT:
Discussed some lessons I learned in childhood about the inherent unfairness of life. Even when you try your best and even sometimes when you outwork the competition, it still may not be good enough. When that happens, how you respond to that disappointment is a real test of character. Many adults struggle with this fundamental reality of life.
