Pax moseyed 3/4 of the way around the track. Discussion about whether we should rotate through the 2-man sled on top of the hill or give it everything we had on the 5-man. Of course we did the 5-man sled. Drove it for 20 yards, rested for approx. 30 seconds (sometimes the Q might have needed an extra few seconds). Down and back. Scored 4 TDs, then went to OT and pushed another 25 yds out and 25 back into the end zone to win the game. Wrapped up with 30-count low plank holds, high plank holds, R & L side plank holds.
My 8-year old son’s baseball season ended with a tournament loss last night. He was the last out of the game/season. The kid’s not usually that emotional in competition, but noticed he was “off” after the game. I put my arm around him, and he buried his face into my shirt and lost it. Still a kid. Still needs his dad. I’m thankful to have been there in that moment for him. Sometimes we need reminders when coaching or even parenting that they are kids, not mini adults.
