I went to church this weekend when I was visiting my girls in BG and the preacher was preaching about Jesus’ 1st documented miracle of turning water into wine at the Wedding in Cana (see John 2:1-12). I’ve read/heard this story tons of times but something different caught my eye this time.

Not many people knew they were out of wine, but the servants (that Mary told to do whatever Jesus said) knew they were out of wine. The fact that they were with Mary when she went to Jesus about the problem, probably means these servants assumed Mary was trying to resolve the wine issue. Jesus told them to fill 6 stone purification jars with water and then ladle some out and take it to the Master of Ceremonies to taste.

Can you imagine walking up to the Master of Ceremonies with a glass of water to taste when he is dealing with a wine problem?

Because the servants obeyed everything Jesus told them to do, the Wedding was saved.

This really made me think what I would have done in that situation. Would I have obeyed?
