Thought of the day is around preparedness.  Two weeks ago, as my wife and I left for a vacation, I finally catalogued our family finances as a little “road map” for my kids “just in case.”  It was something I had thought about doing for a long time since I handle most of the family finances.  Once I did this, I was surprised by the peace of mind this provided that there was some preparation should the worst ever happen.  I couldn’t help but think more broadly at the correlation this had to our preparations (or lack there of) for eternity.  Too often we are focused on the things on our earthly journey (just a fraction of eternity) at the expense of what that means afterwards. Just a thought, but at minimum, it was a great reminder to take care of some “loose ends” around the house to establish some peace of mind that things will continue smoothly when that time finally comes.
