The time we spent with our family. Over this weekend, the M and I flew to Houstin for Aunt Virgina’s funeral. I was amazed by all the stories everyone had of her. I’d like to share one of the stories that seemed to make everyone chuckle because they all could related. The first time we visited Tia (Aunt Virgina), we said our hello and Tia was off into the kitchen cooking us something to eat. I explained we just ate an hour ago. This is when everyone chuckled. What I didn’t know at the time is Tia always wanted to ensure everyone who walked into her home was full when they left. To be polite, I said I’d have one tamale. Tia can out with a full plate. Every time I finished one, she would come by and say I was too skinny and place another tamale on my plate. 5 tamales later, I managed to roll away from the table. She cared about everyone. Even near her final days among us, Blenda called to talk to her. Tia first question was to ask how I was doing and she was praying for me. I know right now she is looking down on us with a loving smile.
