Alice H. Parker of Morristown, NJ invented the natural gas furnace in 1918. An African American female, it took her three years to get her device patented. I think we all owe Alice a debt of gratitude today! A cluster freeze today, as the temp hovered between 0 and -2. Nice work. I have to say, it takes dedication to get out there on a morning like this. I think we were all thankful for the lack of wind.
