For those of you who didn’t catch sermon this weekend I encourage you to watch it online. One of my main takeaways was that we cannot serve two masters.  Centered on our financial wealth and being generous, giving and faithful to God with what he’s entrusted us with.Not that I’m a huge fan of Jelly Roll, but there is a line from one of his songs I heard once:

“Cause I’m only one drink away from the devil,
I’m only one call away from home”.This line really hits home for me because it can apply to basically everything in our walks. We’re so close to our failures and addictions, yet we’re just as close to God’s grace. We’re only one call away from home. When I think of this in terms of being a father, there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for my children in their time of need. Christ sent his son to die so that we could be “only one call away from home”.Just something that was on my mind this weekend and I reflected on service, the Book of James and whether or not I’m being as generous as the Lord is calling me to be.
