COT:

A good friend of mine, with whom I have known since 7th grade, had gone through a difficult divorce several years ago.  He turned to alcohol and had severe depression. His 4 kids were not talking to him and he was having thoughts of suicide.  At one point, he asked that I call him every morning, to check on him and help him make it through day by day. I did call him every morning and it was always an anxious moment, not knowing if he would answer.  I called him every morning for almost a year.  I prayed daily that he would push through, that his relationship with his children would be repaired, and that he could meet someone to make him happy. We spoke a few days ago and talked about that time of his life, and how far he has climbed out of that dark period.  He now has been in a happy relationship for almost six years, his kids are very close to him and he is doing very well professionally. The power of prayer is very real and it makes a great impact to just “be there” for someone.  If you know someone struggling, please reach out, you may not know the positive impact it can have.  Always a pleasure to lead this group of men!
