Loving somebody other than yourself involves sacrifice. Loving somebody else other than myself is hard work because I am fighting against my desire to love myself first, against putting my desires/comfort/opinions/priorities first.
God asks to love Him first, which is immediately followed by love your neighbor as yourself. Let us remember and practice this as an act of Love for Him.
