Hill Repeats
Wed., Apr. 9, 2025 / 06:00 am - 06:45 am / Medina High School
Shugah
PAX:
Workout:
Partners alternated running the hill and doing leg exercises.
One partner ran the hill an increasing number of times (starting with 1 and then increasing by 1 until we reset after 6)
Other partner alternated squat holds and lunges with each of his partner’s hill runs.
Each PAX ultimately did 27 hill runs.
It wasn’t the most fun. But, it was awesome to hear the encouragement for fellow PAX being thrown out.
6MOM:
Slow/fast Freddie Mercs (rounds of 1, 2 and 3 continuous sets)
COT:
Recently finished a novel (which I confusingly read as non-fiction) that spoke of love for fellow human beings….and compared the love we often give to an infant vs. that which we give to adults. With infants, we often globally assume innocence and leverage empathy in dealing with him/her. If the baby is crying, it’s because she is tired… or hungry… or something else happened to it… contrast that with our often ill feelings towards angry/even “rude” adults and we quickly jump to (s)he is an asshole as they cut you off in traffic… Long way of getting at… the book exposed the opportunity for me to be more mindful of the struggles the world presents to each of us… continuously… and the opportunity to treat adults, children, elders, babies, etc. with empathy and understanding. Our negative reactions to others are often due to a deeper fear, insecurity, etc. that WE have within ourselves… rather, than the surface level annoyance we feel we are reacting to from the other person. The book presented a great challenge (and personal growth) to 1) choose empathy and 2) choose self-reflection when encountering moments of inter-personal conflict. Personally, I love a good challenge.
