Making an impact on the youth of today. I’ve been fortunate to coach my son and daughter’s baseball and softball teams for the last 3 years. The kids have been making an impact on me just as much as I have on them. Spoke of a story that another of my coaches pointed out a Bible verse written on his daughter’s glove: Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.
I was moved by that, and so decided to give my boys’ team that same verse before their playoff semifinal game this past weekend; saying I did not know where they stood on ‘faith’, but I know where I stand!
As men, and as Christian men, we have a voice! We have something to offer the younger generation, and we can be a good influence in their lives. We can do this by serving in a church building, in our own homes, and on a baseball field. Have no fear, and get up and take the next step to guiding someone and showing them Christ! ‘You can’t steal second with your foot (planted on) first base!’
It’s amazing how God gives us gifts and talents, but sometimes it takes us a long time to figure out how to use them and why He gave us them. Sometimes the things that we’re passionate about can truly be used to influence others and help others in this world. For me, right now, I’m using my passion for baseball to show kids some love and help to be a positive influence in their lives.
