COT:

A few weeks ago my transmission died.  $6200.  It felt like a kick in the balls.  Thursday I was driving with Reagan in her car.  The dashboard lit up like Christmas tree.  Luckily, I managed to get it to North Gateway.  They called an hour later and said, “Shane, I would recommend you procure a rental.  This looks serious.”  Ugh.  If this gets above $1500, I’m looking at $8 grand in auto repairs for the month.  I had volunteered to help @French Lick with Krazy Ball that night, but suddenly we’re a three drive family down to one car.  Trent had already been earmarked to be Homer (the mascot) for the Miracle League that night.  With great guilt, I canceled on my commitment.  I took Trent to the ML, and a strange thing happened.  I’m watching all this parents with their special needs kids.  Some non-verbal, some in wheelchairs, but they’re all SMILING.  Suddenly it hit me.  Some people would have their budgets altered by a $400 repair.  $8000 is not the end of the world.  It’s money, but that’s all it is.  While it might set me back a bit, I have it.  Just pay the bill, and be thankful for all that you have.  Every man in this group is blessed.  We should never lose sight of that.  Maybe God had me at that ML field to press the reset button that night.  If that was his plan, it worked.  I’m so lucky for what I have, and that includes this fine group of men.  Enjoy the weekend, and God Bless!
