Workout:

The Thang: 5-5-25 Todays date is unique from a mathematical perspective as it one of only 9 days each century that the square root of the year is the month and the day. It’s also Cinco DeMaio but since @Focker didn’t bring Nachos (again) we’ll just stick with the stupid math thing.

Warren Buffet announced on Saturday that he will be stepping down as the head of Berkshire Hathaway at the end of the year. The man is 94 years old, still sharp as ever, has been the richest man in the world a number times and lives in the same relatively modest home he’s lived in since the 1950’s.  Much has been written about the man but much less so than if he were an extravagant man seeking the spot light which seems to be the norm these days. Of the things he cited on numerous occasions that helped him with his success in life the following three I find to especially impactful. The first is constantly investing in ones self-growth and development. He spends between 5-6 hours each day reading. Not novels or doom scrolling articles on the internet but reading things that help him learn something of value he can use in life and in business.    The second is keeping company with other people that help to impact one’s behaviors in a positive way.  The third (which I was drawing a blank on this morning) which is my favorite because it doesn’t seem to come up nearly as often as the first two is saying  “No” more often. Say “no” to as many things as you can that don’t align with your long-term goals. It’s far to easy to get distracted and waste the finite resource of time when we say yes to things that we shouldn’t.
