Lean into commitment over option.

We are both privileged and cursed by the number of options we are awarded. Sometimes the shear number of options overwhelm us to a point of anxiety and/or inaction. Sometimes an option gives us an easy out to a discomfort that will allow ourselves and/or our relationships to grow. Choosing what is right and what is easy are often two very different things–and often the options we have available to us make those choices even easier to choose “easy.” Be it choosing to wake up for a 6am workout in shitty weather vs. hitting the snooze… or choosing to have a difficult/critical conversation with a loved one/co-worker/friend/etc. vs. choosing silence… or resentment… or another defensive response. I am trying to be more mindful in making commitments to myself, my loved ones, my friends, my co-workers…and working to continually stay true to respecting those commitments… and those people… regardless of the discomfort. If this resonates with you as well, I hope for a similar steadfast path towards commitment for you, my friends. Thank you for the opportunity to lead and grow alongside you.
