In the spirit of the Olympics, we looked at the ancient Greek and Roman philosphers that brought us Stoicism. The four virtues of the stoics include: Wisdom, Courage, Temperance, and Justice. While these are all great, the philosophers of that time and today would look to humanity and the elite for thoughts on how to best pursue these virtues. Christians, however, would seek to gain wisdom from God’s word; courage from knowing God is with us always, Temperance from meditating on Gods word and promises, and justice based truth/grace that is demonstrated by God.
