As we head into the holiday season, It’s worth reminding ourselves how easy it is to get distracted away from the things that really matter and instead focus on the things that don’t. We all want our holiday get togethers to be perfect but in the big picture it doesn’t matter if the turkey turns out to be a little dry or some one brings a different side dish than you asked them to. It’s not about getting the perfect gift, the perfect tree or any of the other million things that the commercialization of the season distracts us with. For me it’s always been about being thankful for the many gifts I have in my life and enjoying time with family and friends.
@Padre added that he has had some recent interactions with the younger generation and they continue to reveal redeeming qualities. Maybe not all of their parents did such as bad job after all. Let’s hope they continue to rise up to the challenge.
