Gold Star Family Memorial BEEtdown!

Sat., Mar. 4, 2023 / 07:00 am - 08:00 am / York Community Park

Radio

Warm-up:

Five good minutes of the usual stretching and warming up.  First tactical mistake of the day for @Radio, as I moved the PAX off the parking lot.  Our feet were never dry again.

Workout:

PAX built a simple ladder to 21.
Run the hill, do a burpee, down the hill, 20 alternating side squats (double leg count).  Repeat doing 2 & 19, 3&18, 4&17, etc, until you get to 20 burpees and one squat.
@Shugah made it through the 17th round.  I believe most of us were somewhere in the 16th round when time was called.

6MOM:

PAX did the following on picnic tables:
in/outs x20
LBCs x30
Heal touches x20 on a four count
Flutter kicks x20 on a four count

COT:

I picked this AO because of the Gold Star Families Memorial on the park grounds.  It’s a wonderful place, and I believe it aligns with our values both as a group and as individual families.

Lincoln’s Bixby Letter is part of the Memorial, so I shared it with the group:
I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
A. Lincoln.

I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child to combat.  Let us all take the time to recognize what these families have gone through.
Always an honor to lead this group.  You guys make me proud to be a part of what we are.
Coffeeteria was enjoyed post-BEEtdown.
