Break out your best Icy Hot impression

As some of you may know Icy Hot is listed in the record books at the Woodridge High School stadium for his track contributions. His event was hurdles so today was all about jumping because I thought trying the actual hurdles would lead to much pain (not the good kind).

Started with a classic Motivator

Broke into 2 teams and performed our own version of the hurdles: A team member ran to the 10 and laid down flat. Then, the next team member ran to the 20 but jumped over the legs of the person on the ground. The third team member ran to the 30 jumping over the people at the 10 & 20. Repeated this down to the goal line and back.

Did 1 minute of jumps over the coupon

Went back to another round of hurdles except this time we broad jumped down to the opposite goal line (not Finch’s best idea). Ran the hurdles back to the starting goal line.

Did 50 curls in a warm up for Crew Chief’s Q on Thursday.

Got in a circle and played 2 rounds of railroad (each Pax runs around the circle and jumps over the other people’s legs as they go).

Did 15 big boys slow count to avoid momentum

Flipped over for 2 rounds of guantanamo

We did so much jumping that one might say we hopped like bunnies so it was only fitting to end with some murder bunnies.

Did murder bunnies to the 10 and bear crawled back. Bear crawled to the 10, muder bunnied to the 20 and then crawl beared back. Finished with a bear crawl to the 20 and murder bunnies back to the goal line.

Words today were from Matthew 10. Jesus tells the disciples to go out and spread the word that “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” He tells them to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and cast out demons. But the thing that stands out to me is that he doesn’t tell them that they need to purify themselves before they do these things. He just tells them to go do it. The revelation I take from this is that it’s all about Him and not about us. I know I feel inadequate to share God’s Word all the time because I don’t do this or that well enough, but that’s not what it’s about. It’s His Word that matters. We just have to open our mouths and he’ll use us whether we feel adequate or not.
