Warm-up:

Normal stuff

Workout:

We did a four corners inspired ladder workout with some intermittent running and many more burpees than I anticipated (compliments of @Shugah). The ladder went up in reps and after every 3 rounds we did a lap. We made it through the entire circuit, but didn’t have time for the final lap which would have given us a full mile run. Reps included the following:

  • Merkins 5 reps x11 rounds = 55
  • Prison Get ups (@Garmin) 10×9= 90
  • LBCs (@Squid) 15×7= 105
  • Burpees (@Shugah) 20×5= 100
  • Cherry Pickers (@Radio) 25×3= 75
  • Squats (@Brutus) 30×1= 30
  • + 3 laps + mosey between stations which was almost another 1/4 mile.

6MOM:

No time

COT:

My observations about recent events as well as struggles that people I know are going through is to embrace the opportunities we have to do the things we want to do. Whether it is going to more workouts, devoting more time to your family or finding other things on a constant quest for self-improvement, you never know when some or all of the opportunities to do those things will be taken from you. At a personal level, I am seeking to embrace this challenge more over the summer by making a point to prioritize our workouts and to be a more regular participant than I have been over the spring. It is very easy to let life or other priorities get in the way of coming to workouts. Re-calibrating that is as simple as making the workouts a priority that can’t be bumped.
